Ingredients/Components

  • large eggs - 4 item
  • ground beef
  • cans tomato sauce - 3 oz
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • small onions - 4 item
  • jars spaghetti sauce - 2 or
  • hot Italian sausage - 3 lb
  • home canned tomatoes - 3 qt
  • slices fresh bread crumbs - 7 item
  • or 3 12 oz - 6 oz

How to make spaghetti sauce and meatballs:

In a very large pot, combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, spaghetti sauce and canned tomatoes; start simmering.

In a large bowl, combine sausage, beef, bread crumbs, onions, eggs, salt and pepper. Mix together by hand and roll into desired size balls. Gently drop into sauce and, occasionally stirring sauce and meatballs, let it simmer all day long for 3 days, just shutting off at night.

After the meatballs are cooked, you can start making subs, etc., or just keep cooking. It gets better the 2nd and 3rd day.

This recipe will make approximately 175 small meatballs.
