Savory spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 1
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- garlic clove, minced - 1 item
- tomato sauce - 2 cans
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- minced fresh basil or 1 tsp - 1 Tbsp
- hot cooked spaghetti - 1 item
- minced fresh oregano or 3/4 tsp - 2 tsp
How to make savory spaghetti sauce:
In a Dutch oven, cook ground beef and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender; drain. Add the next 8 ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Remove the bay leaf. Serve over spaghetti.
