Sweet and sour pork
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 1/2 c
- water - 2 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- soy sauce - 2 tsp
- catsup - 1/4 c
- can pineapple chunks - 1 item
- jar cherries - 1/3 item
- pork, cut in cubes - 1 lb
- green pepper, cut in pieces - 1/2 item
How to make sweet and sour pork:
Sauce:1 tsp. soy sauce1/2 c. sugar1/4 c. catsup1/2 c. vinegar2 Tbsp. cornstarch2 Tbsp. water Blend soy sauce, salt, sugar and egg. Add pork. Marinate 20 minutes. Blend flour and cornstarch in plastic bag. Shake pork in mixture to coat well. Deep fry pork at 375° for 6 to 9 minutes or until light brown and cooked. Remove and drain. Arrange pork in platter.Sauce: Blend sauce ingredients and bring to a boil. Slowly add cornstarch and water, stirring constantly, until thick and shiny. Add pineapple, green pepper and cherries. Pour sauce over pork. Serve with rice on side.
