Savory spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- bottled minced garlic - 1 tsp
- large onions, chopped - 2 item
- cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
- lean ground beef - 3 lb
- dried basil - 1 tsp
- dried Italian seasoning - 2 tsp
- large green bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- jar marinara sauce - 1 oz
- cans diced tomatoes with Italian herbs - 2 1/2
- cans mushrooms stems and pieces, drained - 2 item
How to make savory spaghetti sauce:
Cook first 4 ingredients in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Stir until crumbled and no longer pink. Drain mixture. Return to Dutch oven. Stir in marinara sauce, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried Italian seasoning, dried basil and mushrooms. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
