Sausage and rice
Ingredients/Components
- chopped celery - 1 c
- green pepper, finely chopped - 1 item
- uncooked rice - 2 c
- large chopped onion - 1 item
- chopped almonds - 1/2 c
- hot sausage - 1 lb
- mild sausage - 1 lb
- Lipton onion noodle soup mix - 3 pkg
How to make sausage and rice:
Brown sausage. Remove sausage. Saute vegetables. Remove vegetables.In a large pot with 9 cups hot water, add 3 packages onion noodle soup mix and rice. Cook 15 minutes. Add sausage crumbled, vegetables and almonds. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to an hour covered with foil for 15 minutes to start with. Better the second day. Makes 2 large casseroles.
