Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • shortening - 1 c
  • unsifted flour - 7 c
  • yeast - 2 pkg
  • lukewarm water - 1 c

How to make refrigerator rolls:

Boil 1 cup water. Pour over shortening, sugar and salt. Blend and let cool. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add to first mixture after it has cooled. Add beaten eggs. Stir in flour, one cup at a time. Cover and place in refrigerator overnight.

When ready to use, roll out and cut with a biscuit cutter. Brush with melted butter. Let rise until doubled in size, about 2 hours. Bake at 425° approximately 10 minutes. Dough may be stored in refrigerator and used as needed up to 1 week.
