Ingredients/Components
- milk
- butter or margarine - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 6 Tbsp
- water - 2 qt
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- medium potatoes, peeled and diced - 6 item
- celery sticks, diced - 3 item
How to make potato soup:
In large kettle, cook potatoes, carrots and celery in water until tender, about 20 minutes; drain, reserving liquid and setting vegetables aside. In same kettle, saute onions in butter until soft. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Gently stir in vegetables. Add 1 cup or more of reserved cooking liquid until soup is desired consistency.
