Potato casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 pt
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 2 c
- crushed corn flakes - 2 c
- frozen hash brown potatoes - 2 lb
- can cream-of-whatever soup - 1 item
How to make potato casserole:
Combine the first seven ingredients in a large casserole dish. Mix 2 cups crushed corn flakes and 1 stick margarine. Toss the flakes in the margarine and sprinkle over the top of the casserole. Bake in 350° oven for 40 to 45 minutes.I substitute no-fat sour cream and use no-fat Cheddar cheese to make it "lighter". I eliminate the margarine and corn flakes. Occasionally I'll sprinkle bread crumbs on the top.
