- sugar - 1 c
- Cool Whip - 8 oz
- large can crushed pineapple - 1 item
- corn starch - 2 Tbsp
- small box vanilla instant pudding - 1 item
- box of yellow cake mix - 1 item
- directions in two 9 inch round cake pans
How to make pineapple cake:
Bake cake mix according to pkg. directions in two 9 inch round cake pans. When cooled, slice layers in half forming 4 round layers. Combine pineapple, sugar, and corn starch in sauce pan and cook over medium heat until thickened. When cake is thoroughly cooled, place layers on cake plate and put a layer of filling between each layer. Frost with pineapple icing.Pineapple Frosting:1 large can crushed pineapple1 small box vanilla instant pudding8 oz. Cool Whip Combine all ingredients and mix well. Frost cooled cake.Tip: You may need to drain some of the juice from pineapple before mixing. You can add juice a little at a time until you get the right consistency.
