Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 5 c
  • salt - 1/4 c
  • celery seed
  • medium onions, chopped - 6 item
  • mustard seed
  • turmeric - 1 tsp
  • white cider vinegar - 3 c
  • squash, cut thick - 4 qt

How to make pickled squash:

Sprinkle salt over onions and squash. Put ice on top. Let stand 3 hours; drain. Mix the vinegar, sugar, seeds and turmeric. Heat well. Add squash mix. Bring to a full boil. Fill jars and seal.
