Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 5 c
- salt - 1/4 c
- celery seed
- medium onions, chopped - 6 item
- mustard seed
- turmeric - 1 tsp
- white cider vinegar - 3 c
- squash, cut thick - 4 qt
How to make pickled squash:
Sprinkle salt over onions and squash. Put ice on top. Let stand 3 hours; drain. Mix the vinegar, sugar, seeds and turmeric. Heat well. Add squash mix. Bring to a full boil. Fill jars and seal.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, Squash.
