  • sugar - 1 c
  • chili powder
  • chopped onions - 4 c
  • alum - 1 tsp
  • chopped tomatoes - 16 c
  • cumin - 2 tsp
  • white vinegar
  • pickling salt - 1/3 c
  • chopped hot peppers - 1 1
  • black or white pepper - 2 tsp

How to make picante sauce:

Cook on top of the stove 1 1/2 hours. Seal in hot sterilized jars.
