- sugar - 1/4 c
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- soft shortening - 1/4 item
- yellow cornmeal - 1 c
How to make perfect cornbread:
Sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in cornmeal; add eggs, milk and shortening. Beat with mixer until just smooth, about 1 minute. Do not overbeat. Pour into greased 9-inch pan and bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Breads, Oven.
