  • can water chestnuts - 1 item
  • large onions - 2 item
  • small can mushroom pieces - 1 item
  • crushed garlic - 2 Tbsp

  • cornstarch in 1/4 c - 4 Tbsp

How to make chop suey:

In a Dutch oven, bring water to a boil. After rinsing off sprouts, simmer for ten minutes. Bias cut celery and onions into semi-large pieces. Add to sprouts and simmer another five minutes. While you are cooking the vegetables, cut meat into whatever size pieces you desire.

In a large skillet, heat oil. After oil is hot enough for stir-frying, add garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about a minute, then immediately add meat. Do not overcook the meat.

Add meat mixture to the vegetables. Heat until bubbly and thicken with cornstarch, adding only what you need.

Serve with Chinese noodles or rice or whatever.
