Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • nuts - 1 c
  • chopped maraschino cherries - 1/2 c
  • eggs, beaten well - 2 item
  • small can pineapple, crushed - 1 item

How to make paradise cake:

Combine sugar, shortening and eggs until fluffy. Sift flour, soda, baking powder and salt together 3 times. Add to sugar mixture, blend well. Add pineapple, vanilla, nuts and cherries, blending well. Bake for 1 hour at 350° in an angel food pan.
