  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • powdered sugar - 1 pkg
  • Crisco - 1/4 c
  • sour milk - 1/2 c
  • nuts, floured - 1/2 c
  • Frosting:1/2 or 3/4 mashed banana

How to make banana nut cake:

Frosting:1/2 or 3/4 mashed banana1 pkg. powdered sugar1/2 c. nuts1 tsp. vanilla1/4 c. Crisco Beat eggs until fluffy, then add shortening and sugar. Next measure 1/2 cup milk with soda (mix 1 tablespoon vinegar with soda in milk to get sour). Mix bananas in another bowl, then alternate flour (already mixed with salt and baking powder) and bananas. Add vanilla and nuts. Bake at 350° in 2 (8-inch) pans (greased and floured) for 40 to 45 minutes.
