Oatmeal apple cookies

Ingredients/Components

• cinnamon
• vanilla
• milk - 1/4 c
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 1 c
• nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
• baking soda - 1/2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• firmly packed brown sugar
• raisins optional - 3/4 c
• walnuts optional - 3/4 c
• oats - 3 c
• diced apples - 1 c
• buttered Crisco - 3/4 c

How to make oatmeal apple cookies:

Cream Crisco, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla on medium speed. Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda and salt. Beat into creamed mixture at low speed until well blended. Stir in oats. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 13 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to cooling rack. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
