Oatmeal apple cookies

Ingredients/Components

• cinnamon
• vanilla
• packed brown sugar
• milk - 1/4 c
• salt - 1/2 tsp
• flour - 1 c
• nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
• soda - 1/2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• raisins - 3/4 c
• Crisco - 3/4 c
• nuts optional - 3/4 c
• peeled, diced apples - 1 c
• quick oats not instant or old-fashion - 3 c

How to make oatmeal apple cookies:

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease baking sheets with Crisco. Cream Crisco, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla at medium speed 1 1/2 minutes. Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda and salt. Beat into creamed mixture at low until well blended. Stir in fruit and nuts. Stir in oats. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 13 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to cooling rack. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
