Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1/ c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- cornmeal - 1 c
- ground meat - 1 lb
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 lb
- can green chilies - 1 item
- 303 - 1 can
How to make mexican cornbread casserole:
Mix first 7 ingredients into a batter. Brown meat and add onion and chilies. Sprinkle thin layer dry cornmeal in pan. Pour in half of batter, layer cheese, then layer meat mixture. Cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Grains, Side dish.
