Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2/3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • vinegar - 3/4 c
  • Crisco oil - 1/2 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • prepared mustard - 1 tsp
  • can condensed tomato soup - 1 item
  • medium green pepper, cut into thin strips - 1 item
  • medium onions, thinly sliced into rings - 2 item
  • fresh carrots, cleaned and sliced - 2 lb

How to make marinated carrots:

Cook carrots in boiling water with salt, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain, combine with onions and peppers in large bowl. Stir together remaining ingredients. Refrigerate several hours. To serve: Drain marinade and save. Serve carrots in lettuce lined bowl. If desired, return leftovers to marinade. Marinade can be reused.
