Ingredients/Components
- water
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 2 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- diced celery - 1 c
- diced carrots
- dried lentils - 1 lb
- garlic cloves, crushed - 4 item
- soup bone - 1 item
How to make lentil soup:
Rinse lentils in cold water; drain. In heavy 5-quart Dutch oven, combine lentils and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Lower heat and simmer, uncovered, for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove bone; cut meat from bone and return meat to soup.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Soups & stews, Pork.
