Ingredients/Components
- salt
- vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- parsley - 3 Tbsp
- chopped carrot - 1/4 c
- dry lentils - 2 c
- can tomatoes, diced - 1 oz
- slices bacon, diced - 2 item
How to make lentil soup:
Rinse and drain lentils. Place in large kettle with 8 cups water. Add remaining ingredients except tomatoes and vinegar. Cover; simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add tomatoes and vinegar. Simmer, covered, 30 minutes longer. Salt and pepper to taste. Serves 8 to 10.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Soups & stews, Pork.
