Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 10 c
- nutmeg - 4 tsp
- vinegar - 4 Tbsp
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- cloves - 2 tsp
- allspice - 2 Tbsp
- apples - 3 qt
- citron - 12 oz
- juice of 4 lemons
- box dark raisins - 1 item
- beef suet - 4 lb
- pork roast - 1 head,
- sour cherries - 3 qt
- boxes golden raisins - 2 item
- blue grape juice - 1 qt
- juice and pulp of 4 oranges
- orange rinds, chopped - 2 item
How to make homemade mincemeat:
Mix all ingredients together in a large pot and simmer 1 hour. Pack hot into jars and process pints and quarts for 20 minutes at 10 pounds pressure.Recipe categories: Pie, Cake fillings and frostings, Jams and preserves.
