  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • coconut - 1/2 c
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • egg whites - 3 item
  • baked pie shell - 1 item

How to make coconut pie:

Filling: Beat egg yolks. Add to milk, cornstarch, sugar, salt and vanilla. Cook until thick. Add coconut.

Meringue: Beat egg whites with salt and sugar until stiff. Pour filling into pie crust. Spread meringue over filling and sprinkle with coconut. Brown in oven.
