Ingredients/Components
- margarine or butter - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- chopped green onion - 2 Tbsp
- can condensed cream of chicken soup - 1 item
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 oz
- crushed thyme - 1/4 tsp
- large chicken breasts, halved - 3 item
- cooking Sauterne - 3/4 c
- can broiled sliced mushrooms, drained - 1 oz
How to make herbed chicken:
Lightly season chicken with salt and pepper; brown slowly in margarine in skillet. Arrange chicken, skin side up, in baking dish. Add soup to drippings in skillet. Slowly add Sauterne, stirring until smooth. Add remaining ingredients; heat to boiling. Pour sauce over chicken. Cover with foil; bake in a 350° oven for 25 minutes. Uncover; continue baking for 25 to 35 minutes, or until chicken is tender. Serve with rice.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Poultry.
