Ingredients/Components

  • sliced almonds - 1/2 c
  • margarine - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • chopped onions - 2 Tbsp
  • mayonnaise - 3/4 c
  • salt and pepper - 1 item
  • cooked rice
  • can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 oz
  • cubed cooked chicken - 2 c
  • can condensed cream of chicken soup undiluted - 1 item
  • cornflakes - 1 item
  • Topping: melted butter

How to make crunchy chicken casserole:

Topping: melted butter cornflakes In skillet, saute celery in margarine until tender. Add rest of ingredients. Spoon into ungreased 2 1/2-quart casserole.

Topping: Combine melted butter and cornflakes; sprinkle on top of casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes.
