Hearty tuna casserole
Ingredients/Components
- chunk style tuna - 2 cans
- uncooked egg noodles - 6 oz
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- sour cream - 1/2 2/3
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 1/2
- shredded Monterey Jack cheese - 1 c
- medium tomato, chopped - 1 item
- sliced green onion - 1/3 c
- mustard - 2 tsp
- dried thyme leaves - 1/2 tsp
- small zucchini, scrubbed and sliced - 1 item
How to make hearty tuna casserole:
Drain and flake tuna; set aside. Cook noodles. Drain and rinse in hot water. Combine noodles with tuna, celery and green onion. Blend in the sour cream, mustard, mayonnaise, thyme and salt. Spoon half the mixture into a buttered 2-quart casserole. Top with half the zucchini. Repeat layers. Top with cheese. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
