Hearty tuna casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 1/2
- dairy sour cream - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- sliced green onions - 1/3 c
- mustard - 2 tsp
- mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- medium tomato, chopped - 1 item
- shredded Monterey Jack cheese - 1 c
- dried thyme leaves - 1/2 tsp
- uncooked egg noodles - 3 c
- small zucchini, scrubbed and sliced - 1 item
- cans chunky tuna - 2 1/2
How to make hearty tuna casserole:
Drain and flake tuna; set aside. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and rinse in hot water. Combine noodles with the tuna, celery and green onions. Blend in the sour cream, mustard, mayonnaise, thyme and salt. Spoon half the mixture into a buttered 2-quart casserole. Top with half zucchini. Repeat layers. Top with the cheese.
