Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- grape jelly - 1/4 c
- slivered orange peel - 1 tsp
- beets, cooked and drained - 12 med
How to make harvard beets:
Remove the skins from beets; trim and dice. In saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Blend in vinegar and jelly. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until thickened and smooth. Add butter and beets. Simmer 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Garnish with orange peel. Serves 6.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Vegetables.
