- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- cup sugar - 1/2 item
- cup vinegar - 1/2 item
- medium-sized beets - 6 item
How to make harvard beets:
Wash the beets and cook in boiling water until tender. Remove the skins. Cut the beets into thin slices or cubes. Set aside. Mix the sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add the vinegar. Boil the sauce for 5 minutes stirring constantly. Add butter. Pour sauce over beets and let stand for a few minutes to absorb the sweet-sour flavor.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Vegetables.
