Hamburger soup
Ingredients/Components
- water - 5 c
- catsup - 1/4 c
- can tomatoes, cut up - 1 oz
- bay leaf - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- diced celery - 1 c
- seasoned salt - 2 tsp
- sliced carrots - 1 c
- barley - 1/3 c
- diced onions - 1 c
- basil, crushed - 1 tsp
- instant beef bouillon - 1 Tbsp
How to make hamburger soup:
In a large Dutch oven, brown ground beef, stirring slightly to break up large pieces. Drain off excess fat. Add water, undrained tomatoes, onions, carrots, celery, barley, catsup, bouillon, salt, basil and bay leaf. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 hour or until vegetables are tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Remove bay leaf.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Clear soup, Main dish.
