Ham and cheese sandwiches
Ingredients/Components
- butter or oleo - 1/4 lb
- poppy seed - 2 tsp
- mustard - 2 tsp
- mayonnaise - 2 Tbsp
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- Swiss cheese - 1 lb
- chipped ham - 1 lb
- sandwich buns about 15; more or less, depending on ham and cheese used
How to make ham and cheese sandwiches:
Mix together butter, mustard, poppy seed, mayonnaise and onion. Spread on half of open bun. Add ham and cheese slice. Wrap in foil. Bake at 325° for 20 minutes. May be made ahead, frozen and then baked at 300° for 30 minutes. I sometimes use celery seed in a smaller amount rather than poppy seed.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Sandwich, Ham.
