Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 3/4 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • molasses - 3/4 c
  • cooking oil - 3/4 c
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • ground ginger - 2 tsp

How to make gingerbread:

Add beaten eggs to brown sugar, molasses and oil. Combine dry ingredients and sift. Add to egg mixture. Stir in boiling water. Bake in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 250° for 25 minutes or until cake is springy to the touch. Yields 16 servings.
