Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 3 item
- flour - 2 c
- boiling water - 1 c
- cooking oil - 1 c
- dark syrup - 1 c
- each: cloves, ginger and cinnamon - 1 tsp
- baking soda, dissolved in 1/8 c
How to make gingerbread:
Place eggs, syrup, oil, sugar and spices in a large bowl; beat well. Add dissolved soda. Sift in flour and beat well. Add boiling water and beat lightly and quickly. Place in 9 x 12-inch pan, greased well. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes. Serves 10 to 12.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
