  • milk - 1/2 c
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • vegetable oil - 1 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • garlic salt - 1/4 tsp
  • ground cumin - 1/4 tsp
  • additional oil for frying - 1 item
  • large, fresh picked squash blossoms - 12 item

How to make fried squash blossoms:

In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic salt and cumin. In another bowl, beat egg, milk and oil; add to dry ingredients and stir until smooth. In a skillet, heat 2 inches of oil to 375°. Dip blossoms in batter and fry, a few at a time, until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Serve warm. Yields 4 servings.
