Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/16 tsp
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • unsweetened chocolate - 2 sq
  • can sweetened condensed milk - 14 15

How to make foolproof chocolate frosting:

Put first three ingredients in top of double boiler. Stir frequently and cook over (not in) boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes or until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth and thick. Remove from heat.

Stir in vanilla and butter. Replace hot water in bottom in double boiler with cold to cool frosting, stirring frequently, or beat with rotary beater. Thin with a little cream, if necessary. Covers tops and sides of two 9-inch layers.
