Fish chowder
Ingredients/Components
- chopped bacon slices - 3 item
- garlic clove, crushed - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water
- cubed raw potatoes - 2 c
- cubed raw carrots - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- whole cloves - 2 item
- bay leaf - 1 item
- dill seed - 1/4 tsp
- white pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped celery leaves - 1/3 c
- 1 lb - 2 c
- undiluted evaporated milk
How to make fish chowder:
Fry bacon in large saucepan until crisp and golden; remove from pan. Add garlic and onion; saute for 5 minutes. Blend in flour. Add bacon and remaining ingredients, except cod and evaporated milk. Heat to boiling. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Add fish, cook 10 minutes more; stir occasionally. Stir in evaporated milk. Heat just to boiling. Remove bay leaf and cloves before serving.
