Fish chowder
Ingredients/Components
- half and half - 2 c
- pkg - 2 oz
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- bay leaf - 1 item
- parsley for garnish - 1 item
- garlic clove, minced - 1 item
- medium onions, sliced - 3 item
- whole cloves - 4 item
- dill seed - 1/4 tsp
- large potatoes, sliced - 4 item
- white table wine - 1/2 c
How to make fish chowder:
In a covered 5-quart Dutch oven on medium heat, simmer potatoes, onions, celery, cloves, garlic, salt, bay leaf, dill seed and 1 cup of water for about 25 minutes, or until vegetables are tender. Discard cloves. Add fish, 1 cup water and remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
