  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • warm water - 1/4 c
  • yeast - 1 pkg
  • dill seed - 1 2
  • unbeaten egg - 1 item
  • minced onion optional - 1 Tbsp
  • 2 1/4 c
  • warm, creamed cottage cheese - 1 c

How to make dilly casserole bread:

Soften yeast in water; combine in mixing bowl the cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, soda, egg and softened yeast. Add flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition. Cover and let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size. Stir dough down. Turn into well-greased 8-inch round 2-quart casserole. Let rise in warm place until light. Bake in a 350° oven for 40 or 50 minutes. Brush with soft butter and sprinkle with salt.
