Crumb cake

Ingredients/Components

• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• flour - 2 c
• brown sugar - 2 c
• buttermilk - 1 c
• baking soda
• egg - 1 item
• shortening - 1/2 c

How to make crumb cake:

Add baking soda to buttermilk and let foam while mixing other ingredients. Mix together flour, brown sugar and shortening until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup for the topping. To the remaining flour mixture, add the cinnamon, egg and buttermilk. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan. Sprinkle topping over the batter. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
