Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- plain flour - 2-1/4 2-1/2
- warm water - 1/4 c
- onion, chopped - 1 Tbsp
- dill - 2 tsp
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- creamed cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm - 1 c
- unbeaten egg - 1 item
How to make dilly casserole bread:
Soften yeast in warm water. Combine cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill, salt, soda, egg and yeast. Add flour to form stiff dough, beating well after each addition. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85 degrees to 90 degrees) until light and doubled in size (50 to 60 minutes). Stir dough down. Put in a well-greased 8-inch round casserole (1-1/2 to 2 quart size). Let rise in a warm place until light (30 to 40 minutes). Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes until brown.
