Dill pickles
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- water - 2 c
- vinegar - 1 c
- ground turmeric - 1/4 tsp
- whole mustard seed - 1 tsp
- fresh dill or dill seed - 1 item
- salt to qt - 1 tsp
How to make dill pickles:
Wash and pack cucumbers into jars to which has been added dill, mustard seed, ground turmeric and salt. Mix together sugar, vinegar and water. Pour solution into jars. Wipe off mouth of jar and seal. Place jars into an open kettle and add water to make pot about 1/2 full. Bring to a boil and when cucumbers start to turn color, cut off heat and let set until water is cool.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Appetizers, Condiments, etc..
