- sugar
- salt - 8 Tbsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 8 Tbsp
- stalks celery - 14 item
- parsley - 2 Tbsp
- medium onions - 8 item
- bay leaves - 15 item
- bushel tomatoes - 1 item
- cloves optional - 22 item
- each: red and green peppers optional - 2 item
How to make cream of tomato soup:
Boil together first 7 ingredients for 1 hour. Work through sieve. Cream together and add butter and flour. Add salt and sugar. Boil together 10 minutes. When thickened, put in cans and hot water bath 5 or 10 minutes rolling boil.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Tomato, Bisques/cream soups.
