Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 2 c
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • chicken broth - 4 c
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • cream of celery soup - 1 can
  • fresh broccoli, cut & steamed until tender - 1 item
  • jar of old english cheese - 1 item
  • small jar of cheese whiz - 1 item

How to make cream of broccoli soup:

Mix broth and soup in large pan and bring to a boil. Add steamed broccoli and reduce heat. Simmer, covered for about 5 minutes. Heat butter in pan and add chopped onion, saut?© until tender. Add flour to butter & onions. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually stir in milk with onion and flour mixture. Cook until thickened, about 5-10 minutes. Add salt and pepper, mix well. Stir milk mixture into broccoli mixture. Add the 2 cheeses and simmer for about 15 minutes. Serves 4-6 people.
