Cream cheese bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- pkg - 18 oz
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- melted butter - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 4 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
- warm water 105~ to 115~ - 1/2 c
- Glaze:2 c
- Mix well and cool to lukewarm
How to make cream cheese bread:
Combine sour cream, sugar, butter and salt. Mix well and cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl. Stir in sour cream mixture and eggs. Stir in flour gradually. Dough will be soft. Cover and chill overnight.Divide dough in 4 parts. Turn each part on heavily floured surface and knead 4 or 5 times. Roll each part into a 12 x 8-inch rectangle. Spread 1/4 filling over each, leaving 1-inch margin around edge. Roll up jelly roll fashion, beginning at long side. Pinch edges to seal carefully.
Place seamed side down on greased baking sheet. Make 3 X shaped cuts across each loaf. Cover and let rise in warm place until double in size, about 1 hour. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.Filling:2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened3/4 c. sugar1 egg, beaten1/8 tsp. salt2 tsp. vanilla Combine and mix well with mixer.Glaze:2 c. powdered sugar1/4 c. milk2 tsp. vanilla Pour over cuts in loaves while still warm.
