  • butter or margarine - 3/4 c
  • salt
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • water
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • poultry seasoning
  • celery slices - 1 c
  • green onion slices - 1/2 c
  • crumbled cornbread - 6 c
  • dry bread cubes - 6 c

How to make country cornbread dressing:

Saute nuts, celery and onion in 1/4 cup butter. Add to combined cornbread, bread cubes, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper; mix well. Gradually add water, eggs and remaining 1/2 cup butter; toss lightly. Lightly stuff dressing into 12-pound turkey. Roast according to standard directions. Makes 2 1/2-quarts of dressing.
