Country cornbread dressing
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 3/4 c
- salt
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- water
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- poultry seasoning
- celery slices - 1 c
- green onion slices - 1/2 c
- crumbled cornbread - 6 c
- dry bread cubes - 6 c
How to make country cornbread dressing:
Saute nuts, celery and onion in 1/4 cup butter. Add to combined cornbread, bread cubes, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper; mix well. Gradually add water, eggs and remaining 1/2 cup butter; toss lightly. Lightly stuff dressing into 12-pound turkey. Roast according to standard directions.
