Ingredients/Components

  • oil - 1/2 c
  • chili powder - 1 tsp
  • medium onions - 3 item
  • potato
  • turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • tomato - 1 c
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • coriander leaves - 1 tsp
  • ginger paste - 1 tsp
  • spiced salt to taste - 2 tsp

How to make potato curry:

Fry chopped onion until light brown and add ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder and turmeric and fry for a few minutes. Add one cup of water and salt and stir for a minute until onion becomes tender. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until a thin gravy is formed. Add potatoes (peeled and cut into big pieces) and fry for 10 minutes. Add coriander powder. Add 3 cups more water and cook on a low fire until tender. Remove from the fire and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and serve hot along with puri. Serves 8.
