Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 Tbsp
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1/2 c
- stick margarine - 1/2 item
- boiling water - 1 c
- self-rising cornmeal - 1 c
- plain cornmeal - 1/2 c
How to make corn bread:
Mix self-rising cornmeal, plain cornmeal and sugar; add boiling water and mix well. Beat eggs and milk. Pour into cornmeal mixture. Stir well. In 10-inch frying pan or baking dish, melt margarine. Pour batter into pan. Scoop margarine over the top of batter. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes until nice and brown.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Southern u.s..
