  • butter - 1/2 c
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • self-rising flour - 1/2 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • self-rising cornmeal - 1 c

How to make corn bread:

Melt butter in small cast-iron skillet. Stir together well the cornmeal, flour, egg and buttermilk. Add the melted butter, leaving a small amount of butter in bottom and along sides of skillet. Pour mixture into heated skillet and bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve immediately.
