Classic quiche lorraine
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- eggs, beaten - 4 item
- light cream - 1 c
- medium onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
- dash of nutmeg - 1 item
- shredded Swiss cheese
- bacon drippings - 2 Tbsp
- slices crisp bacon - 8 item
- pastry for single crust - 1 item
How to make classic quiche lorraine:
Cook and crumble bacon. Cook onion in bacon drippings until tender. Mix eggs, milk, cream, flour and seasoning. Stir in bacon, onion and Swiss cheese. Pour in shell. Cover edges of crust with foil if necessary to prevent overbrowning. Bake at 325° for 45 to 50 minutes or until knife comes out clean.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Cheese, Main dish.
