Classic quiche lorraine
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- light cream - 1 c
- beaten eggs - 4 item
- dash of ground nutmeg - 1 item
- shredded Swiss cheese
- slices bacon - 8 item
- medium onion, sliced - 1 item
- pastry for 9-inch quiche pie pan
How to make classic quiche lorraine:
Bake pie crust at 450° for 10 minutes. In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons of the drippings. Finely crumble bacon and set aside. Cook onion in the reserved drippings until tender; drain.In a small bowl, combine eggs, cream, milk, flour, salt and nutmeg. Stir in the bacon, onion and cheese; mix well. Pour into pastry shell. If necessary, cover edge of crust with foil to prevent overbrowning. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.
